Meet Rivian’s New Midsize SUV

The Rivian R2 is here, bringing Rivian’s approach to electric adventure into a smaller, two-row SUV designed to reach a much broader group of drivers.

At Demo Days 2026, Seeing Green caught up with Rivian for a closer look at the R2 and some of the features that set it apart. We explore the five-seat interior, spacious rear seating and storage, fold-down rear seats, NACS charging port and a rear glass window that opens independently for everything from loading groceries to giving pets a little fresh air.

We also talk about where the R2 fits within Rivian’s expanding lineup, with quick looks at some of the features available across the larger R1S and R1T.
