Inside Expo West: Ocean’s Halo Brings Organic Seaweed Snacks and Asian-Inspired Pantry Staples

While at Natural Products Expo West, Seeing Green spoke with the team at Ocean’s Halo about the brand’s lineup of organic seaweed snacks, noodles, soups, broths, sauces and frozen kimbap rolls.

Founded with the goal of creating healthier snack options and pantry staples, Ocean’s Halo combines Asian-inspired flavors with simple ingredients and widely available grocery formats. Ocean’s Halo products are USDA Certified Organic and made with minimal ingredients selected by the company’s food science team. Seaweed itself is one of the most sustainable crops on the planet, grown in the ocean without freshwater, farmland or fertilizers.

The brand has also removed bulky plastic trays from its seaweed snack packaging since 2021, helping eliminate millions of pieces of single-use plastic each year.

In this conversation from Expo West, we take a look at several of Ocean’s Halo’s products, including seaweed snack flavors like Maui onion, sea salt and vinegar, Korean barbecue and ginger sesame, along with the brand’s frozen fried rice kimbap rolls. Ocean’s Halo products are widely available at major retailers including Whole Foods, Walmart, Target and other grocery chains nationwide.
