Spotlight: Earth Animal

What if your pet’s treats could also reflect your values — from animal welfare to plastic reduction?

Meet Earth Animal… a company that’s been doing things “another way” since the beginning and the Seeing Green Solutionist of the Day for September 2.

Founded in 1979, Earth Animal’s purpose is simple yet powerful: make the highest quality pet products, always consider environmental impact, and do it all another way. From their vet-formulated supplements to their now-iconic No-Hide® Chews, this family-owned brand has always put animal well-being, transparency and planetary care at the heart of their mission.

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for Earth Animal — it’s baked into their DNA. In fact, they were one of the first pet care companies to create an Animal Welfare Framework grounded in the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, ensuring that every animal in their supply chain is treated with dignity and care. And they’re not stopping there: Earth Animal has also taken bold steps to reduce their reliance on animal proteins, introducing innovations like Plant-Based Better Biscuits and No-Meat No-Hide® Chews — created in collaboration with The Better Meat Co.

Earth Animal sees their role as protectors of not just pets but the planet that sustains us all — baked directly into their name. They’re 98% of the way toward their goal of using 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging by the end of 2025. In the meantime, they’ve partnered with rePurpose Global to become Certified Plastic Neutral, removing as much plastic from nature as they use. They’re also working collaboratively through industry groups like the Pet Sustainability Coalition and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition to share what they’ve learned and help raise the bar for the entire category.

As a Certified B Corporation and 1% for the Planet member, Earth Animal is committed to backing their values with action — measuring success not just by profits, but by how they treat animals, people, and the planet.

In short? Earth Animal makes it easier for consumers to choose better — for their pets, for farm animals, and for the planet.
