Dog & Whistle is a pet wellness brand built around a simple belief with big impact: our dogs deserve real food and our planet deserves less waste — making them our Seeing Green Solutionist of the Day.

From the beginning, Dog & Whistle set out to prove that pet food could be made with the same integrity, freshness and climate awareness we expect from the human food system.

Born from the idea that perfectly good ingredients shouldn’t be tossed aside, Dog & Whistle transforms surplus food from the human supply chain into nutritious meals and treats for dogs. It’s a smarter way to feed our pets and a powerful way to shrink the carbon footprint of wasted food.

A Founder Driven by Purpose

The company was founded by Eric J Adams, who saw two problems hiding in plain sight — massive food waste and heavily processed pet food — and realized they could be solved together. By partnering with food service businesses and local farms, Dog & Whistle rescues high-quality ingredients that would otherwise be discarded for reasons unrelated to nutrition or safety. Uneven produce, excess grains, overstock and other upcycle-ready ingredients become the foundation of their recipes, crafted with the same care you’d expect in your own kitchen.

Made in a Human-Grade Kitchen

Every product is made in a human-grade kitchen in Las Vegas, where Dog & Whistle controls its entire production process. That means high standards, transparency and meals designed around real ingredients, not fillers or byproducts. Their recipes deliver balanced nutrition with an emphasis on freshness, flavor and clean formulation, an approach that treats pets as family and rejects the overly industrial model of traditional pet food.

Upcycled Ingredients With Real Impact

Upcycling is the heart of their climate strategy. Redirecting surplus food keeps it out of landfills, where it would generate methane, and reduces demand for newly produced ingredients. This circular model conserves resources, lowers emissions and gives pet parents a simple way to make a lighter-impact choice without adding complexity to daily life. A treat or topper becomes a small climate solution.

Building Nevada’s First Carbon-Neutral Pet Food Facility

Dog & Whistle is designing Nevada’s first carbon-neutral pet food facility, built from the ground up to reduce energy use, emissions and operational waste. It’s a major step toward proving that sustainable pet nutrition isn’t just about ingredients — it’s about transforming the entire system that makes them.

Community-First Mission

Dog & Whistle also stands out for its community-first mission. They aim to grow with pet parents rather than treat them like transactions, and they frame sustainability as an accessible, everyday practice. With meals, treats and toppers built around real food, upcycled ingredients and thoughtful sourcing, the brand invites people to care for their pets and the planet at the same time.

Dog & Whistle is a Seeing Green Solutionist because they show how innovation, responsibility and nutrition can move together. They’re not just making better pet food. They’re helping reshape a category that touches millions of homes and proving that circularity can be delicious.
