Inside SF Climate Week: Chocolate, Craft & What’s Next

Seeing Green stopped by TCHO Chocolate, in partnership with Savor, during San Francisco Climate Week for a behind-the-scenes look at how chocolate goes from raw cacao to finished bars — and for a sneak peek at how it may be made with a lighter footprint.

From TCHO’s bean-to-bar sourcing and flavor-driven products to a glimpse of next-generation ingredients, this is how a modern chocolate maker is thinking about quality, process and impact.

We also had the chance to try Savor’s “A Bite of the Future” — chocolate made in collaboration with TCHO using Savor’s EcoButter, a new way of creating fats directly from carbon.

Featuring TCHO Chocolate and Savor, a Bay Area company developing a new approach to fats with the potential to reduce land, water and energy use.
